Southern Africa BRM Trainers’ Network:

On behalf of the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Sandia National Laboratories is pleased to invite you to attend a series of remote and in-person workshops.  The purpose of these workshops is to conduct a four-part training program.  This event is part of an ongoing regional training effort across Southern Africa.  The goal of these events is to build participants’ ability to train others and create a global biorisk management trainers’ network across Southern Africa.  By the end of the four workshops, participants will have access to the Global Biorisk Management Curriculum (GBRMC), core documents (Standard Operating Procedure Templates, Biorisk Manuals, Respiratory Protection Manuals, and more).  The GBRMC is a repository of 40+ training courses centered on the principles and best practices of biorisk management (biosafety and biosecurity).  The desired outcome of this four-part engagement will be a strong core team of collaborative trainers that is capable of designing, developing, and delivering biorisk management training in an independent manner. We will begin with remote meetings followed by our first in-person training scheduled for 15-19 April.
