Training to Prevent Illicit Proliferation of Pharmaceutical Agents

Overview 

Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Chemical Security Program (CSP) will conduct a 3-day in person workshop on chemical security risks associated with pharmaceutical based agents (PBAs); specifically, how to identify and mitigate their weaponization.  SNL will develop and deliver a 3-day in-person event in Amman, Jordan for up to 20 Jordanian pharmaceutical sector managers and leaders.  

SNL trainers will customize instructional materials related to: 

  • PBAs known to be the target of weaponization by state actors
  • Chemical security risk assessment methodologies 
  • Proliferation pathways pursued by state actors 
  • Facilitated discussions and exercises to identify mitigations to reduce PBA proliferation risks

Intended Audience 

The in-person engagement is designed for up to twenty (20) representatives from the Jordanian pharmaceutical sector whose responsibilities involve overseeing security, risk reduction, procurement, and research & development. Participants will be expected to attend the full 3-day training and participate in discussions and exercises in order to receive a course certificate.
